Kuta Area in Bali

Our hotel in Bali, Aston Kuta is just around 5-10 minutes drive from the airport and a 15-minute walk to Kuta Beach and Central.

Going to Kuta Beach from the hotel, you will pass by other surrounding beaches.
Just follow the pathway and it will lead you to Kuta Beach
It is your chance to view other resorts that offer a nice view of the beach and intricate architectural designs.

A temple in between resorts.

And finally, Kuta Beach!
Kuta Beach entrance from Kuta Central, right across Hard Rock Hotel

Kuta Beach is much like Patong Beach in Phuket. The beach is a long and wide stretch of grayish sand with a lot of people swimming, surfing, sunbathing, or just bumming around.

Bumming around as well...

A great sunset view.

Beside the beach is Kuta Central where you can find a lot of restaurants -
one of the many Balinese Restaurants around

- and shops ranging from local market selling souvenir items and accessories...

To the International brands such as Billabong, Rip Curl, Levi's, Giordano, and many more...

. Even TopShop and Marks and Spencer have an outlet in Bali!

Of course, Starbucks will not be missed out!

A pose at the famous Hard Rock Hotel just like most of the tourists.

After strolling around, we ended the night with a dinner at Made's Warung.

I have heard a lot of hype about this restaurant but I think there is nothing really special.
The ambiance is quite nice though. It has a native setup.

Jori, what's with the face?
The food is just ok, nothing to rave about. We ordered their best-seller Nasi Campur Special and Half Nasi Campur and Half Gado-Gado.
Nasi Campur Special (but wasn't so special for us though)
Half Nasi Campur, Half Gado-Gado (vegetable in peanut sauce)
I found the peanut sauce overpowering the vegetable taste
Me and my newly purchased wooden bangle :D
