Melt

Before Jori left Singapore, we had a sumptuous dinner at Melt The World Cafe in Mandarin Oriental.

It was truly one of the best buffet dinners we've had here in Singapore. Compared to Fullerton, Ritz Carlton, and Basilico, Melt has the most variety of dishes to choose from, which explains why it is also the most expensive among them. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Cheese

This one's the best! Belgian Waffle topped with Straciatella Ice Cream
And how much was the total damage?

From Thursday to Saturday evenings, rate is 78++ per person. This includes sizzling barbecue in the menu. Without the barbecue, it is 68++ per person from Sundays to Wednesdays.

Where to eat when in Shanghai?: South Beauty

Good Food, good service, amazing views - those are what we've experienced in South Beauty.

It is located on the 10th floor of Super Brand Mall, Pudong Area. Ask for window seats so you can have a great view of the Huang Pu River and the Bund.

A big container full of chilis greeted us at the reception. A warning for their spicy dishes? I guess so. But even if you're not a fan of them, they still have a lot of non-spicy dishes.

A serving tray for each table plus a waiter on stand-by at almost every table. This gave Jori an impression that our meal would be very expensive. Actually it wasn't, considering the location and the service. We spent around 2,100 - 2,400 PHP for the both of us.

We asked for their recommended dishes and the waiter pointed out this dish to us.
Thin pork slices with vegetables, served with soy sauce and chili.

And so the battle with the chopsticks began! :) To eat this, you need to place the pork on the plate, put some vegetables on top, roll the pork (similar to rolling a lumpia), then dip it on both soy sauce and chili sauce. Yum!

Sichuan Chicken. Nothing unusual.

We were supposed to order plain rice but it wasn't on the menu. The waiter doesn't understand English and we can't find the Mandarin translation for plain rice. So we had no choice but to order their 68 CNY (about 460 PHP) fried rice in lotus leaf. We didn't regret it since it was flavorful and serving size was very generous.

Overall, I think South Beauty is one of the best restaurants in Pudong Area where you can enjoy both the food and the view. To fully enjoy the scenery, it is best to go there on dinnertime, when the buildings on the Bund are all lighted up.

Let's Jump!

We watched JUMP, a Korean comic martial arts performance last August 13 at Esplanade Theater in Singapore.

I've been wanting to wear this black dress but I can't find the right time. This play was perfect timing!

Dress: Hypnosis; Necklace: Accessorize

I just wore sandals to look casual. I don't want to look too formal since the show was in the afternoon, and so that I can walk comfortably around the mall after. :)

Black H&M bolero from my recent trip to Shanghai.

And Jori's shot! Wahaha. Pants from Bershka which I FORCED him to wear. It took a while for him to give in to wearing them.
